CoverGrrlz went on a recording field trip last weekend, to Michael Padilla's Soundport Recording Retreat in Grass Valley. There, we completed four new recordings--"Honky Tonk Women," "Day Tripper," "Rebel Yell," and "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'."

Soundport, formerly in Berkeley, has moved up into the mountains of Grass Valley, and provides clients with accomodations as well as a great recording experience away from all the distractions of home.

CoverGrrlz Webcast Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007!

CoverGrrlz will be doing a live webcast this Thursday, November 8 at 10:30 pm. It will be broadcast from the Ex'pression College for Digital Arts website. Ex'pression College offers students an education in any number of digital arts, including recording and audio-video production. That is where the CoverGrrlz come in!

CoverGrrlz will perform live while the students run sound, lights and video. The video will be webcast from the ex'pression website LIVE!

CoverGrrlz eliminated from Last Band Standing :-(

By a difference that could be counted "on fingers and toes"

Today CoverGrrlz were eliminated from KFOX Last Band Standing.

CoverGrrlz were awarded 25 of 30 points from the on-site judges--the highest amount of points of any of our competitiors, but the popular vote was not with us.

CoverGrrlz had an amazing time playing live at the radio station yesterday, and thank KFOX and Greg Kihn for the wonderful opportunity. We also thank every one of you that voted!

Congratulations to MamaLuke!, the East Bay band we faced off with on Monday morning's Greg Kihn show on KFOX 98.5 FM, who won our semi-final round. They will go on to play the Megatones, winner of the Tuesday playoff.

CoverGrrlz really appreciate your support, and your vote. We had a REALLY GREAT time playing yesterday at KFOX!! Thank You!!

CoverGrrlz went to KFOX studios this morning to play LIVE and face off against MamaLuke! in the first round of the semi-finals in the Last Band Standing Contest!

CoverGrrlz were awarded 25 of 30 points from the on-site judges, who are all industry professionals. The judges were Read Zaro, Bay Area booking agent; Robert Berry, guitarist extraordinaire; and Brad Kava, San Jose Mercury News Music Critic.

CoverGrrlz selected to compete in KFOX Last Band Standing Contest!

CoverGrrlz are thrilled and honored to be selected as one of 16 cover bands in KFOX Radio's Last Band Standing contest! YOUR VOTE is NEEDED to help advance the CoverGrrlz to the next round!

Last Band Standing is a yearly contest sponsored by San Jose's KFOX 98.5 Classic Rock radio station. The contest pits bands from each of three categories -- cover, tribute and under-18 -- against each other. The winner is ultimately decided by votes cast on KFOX's web site.

In this first round, the field is narrowed from 32 total bands down to 12 (four from each category) by an internet vote.

In the next round, four finalists from each category get to play live at the KFOX studio on the Greg Kihn Show, and then one more round of voting determines the winner!
